Yesterday I was updating my blog, general blathering on about wanting to be a member of Girls Aloud (to stand in for Sarah's hangovers, or for when Mrs Cole is doing time for bashing toilet attendants - which I would never do). When everything went out. Lights, computer, erm the oven standby clock. Helen, who was rather on the ball - and to think I was the Girl Guide, burst out laughing - as my blog was gone for we had been cut power wise (and we had orange juice and peppers in - we were tempting fate with those). Anyway, not to be out done by the Forrest, I happened to have a front bicycle light in my pocket (as one does) and we hunted out candles and then consulted with the trip box to turn the power back on. The thing was, we haden't tripped out.....
Anyway I called the forth emergency service (Mum) who actully had no idea other then a main fuse within the box as we tried various combinations of curcuits being on to no avail. So, phoned Ranj who offered to bring us food (it was ok, pizza arrived just as the lights went out - and HOW RUDE the delievery boy laughed when I told him about the crisis) and then to come and pick us up. Finally phoned Sunella upstairs who went on the case for looking up electrians and just as a matter of course, phoned our electric supplier. Apperantly there was a problem in our postcode which they knew about as several people had phoned already instead of phoning their mum's! Oh, we are dizty! Anyway, had a lovely evening playing Rummykub by candle light, eating pizza and frying eggs in my hair that was in desperate need for a wash but there was no way i was having a cold bath! My second dizty moment came when we made hot water bottles and I burnt my hand in the gas lighting a hob with a match - it only caught but the smell of singed skin hung around for a while! Anyway, the power came on, i washed the grease and oil from my hair and we watched a movie http://hardcandymovie.com/ which was awesome but I found out I am not the liberal I thought I was. It is quite relevant in light of all the stuff going on with the Sadam execution so very recommened. I won't spoil the plot in case anyone wants to see it, but I will say, not for one moment did I feel bad for Jeff.
In other news, we had a super Christmas seeing family and friends - felt a bit like a world tour as we went on location everyday until we got back to work, other then when we entertained loose lips balch.
My work has been in the press lately - they are proposing 300 job cuts. Apperantly we had consultants in who said people just walk around the civic centre drinking tea. Now look he Mr Consultant - thats's networking whilst multi-tasking our need for energy boosts and should be praised!
Well, h is out tonight. The BL shop has been incredibly busy and they have been given some money to go out and have some fun. Poor old Helen has been incedibly busy too with her writing when at home so a well deserved night out for her. Allie and me are in, well she's gone out to chase grass or whatever she does so its me and the paint brush.
Hope everyone is well,
Love

PS - I did intend to post a round robin summary on the year that was 2006, which I didn't finish. It would have been roughly like this:
Dear all,
In 2006 we bought a flat with more holes then a sieve.
Love
